April 6th, Sunday - PRINCE ALBERT, SK to MINOT, ND. Join our tour anywhere along the route today. From Prince Albert – Best Western Inn Marquis Rd, Saskatoon – Motel 6 Marquis Drive or Circle Center, Regina – Southland Mall at Food Court Doors, North Portal Duty Free, Portal – border entry into the United States, overnight in Minot.

April 7th, Monday - MINOT, ND to SIOUX CITY, IA (B). Travel through North Dakota, South Dakota and Iowa. Stop for lunch in Fargo and visit the Rae-Bon Sew & Quilt Shop, next door. Stop in Watertown for coffee before heading to Sioux City for overnight.

April 8th, Tuesday - SIOUX CITY, IA to ST JOSEPH, MO (B, L, KB). Today visit the International Quilt Museum at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.  Your tour will include behind the scenes Conservation Work Room and Collections Storage, exhibits in four galleries of vintage quilts, lunch, and time in the museum gift shop. Stop in Rock Port at the Quilt Boutique, locally owned and run by a mother / daughter duo. They started out small and have expanded 3 times with wall-to-wall fabric bolts in many colors and designs. Enjoy the hotel kickback tonight.

April 9th, Wednesday - ST JOSEPH, MO to ST LOUIS, MO (B, L, KB). This morning you will head to the small hamlet of Hamilton, MO. Over the past years, Hamilton has generated a list of nicknames: The Disneyland of Quilting, the Quilting Capital of the World, and Quilt Town USA.  Tour the Missouri Star Quilt Company, whose founder Jenny Doan has evolved her single brick building business into twelve themed quilt shops on main street. Be sure to have comfortable walking shoes on today! Your visit will include lunch and the Missouri Quilt Museum. Then to St Louis, MO to the Union Station. See the Aquarium, Mirror Maze, Fire & Light Show, Selfie Express, Sky High Ride or Taste Soda Fountain. There is plenty to see and do while you stay overnight in St Louis.

April 10th, Thursday - ST LOUIS, MO to INDIANAPOLIS, IN (B). Leave St Louis this morning to see one of only a handful of UNESCO Creative Cities in the United States in Paducah, KY. The National Quilt Museum honors today’s quilters and inspires future quilters. Their vision is to be America’s premier quilt museum, celebrating innovative and extraordinary quilts from the US and around the world. It is a nationally recognized art museum that exhibits the finest fiber art in the world. Travel north to Indianapolis for the night.

April 11th, Friday - INDIANAPOLIS, IN to JOILET, IL (B). Marion, IN – Quilters Hall of Fame (Webster House), whose mission is to celebrate the art of quilting and the people who have made major contributions to the quilting world. Marie Webster had been nominated to the Quilters Hall of Fame and now her home has become a designated National Historic Landmark, commemorating the history of the United States of America. Learn about the Webster House and its history through the years.  Through hard work and determination, it is what it is today. Beautiful quilt exhibits, hall of fame member contributions, knowledgeable staff and a small gift store with quilting books and patterns and some interesting gifts made by the Quilting Hall of Fame guild members.  Then you are off to Nappanee to the Heritage Fabrics and General Store. It is the area’s leading fabric store and is a true general store, plus it carries about 500 bolts of quilting fabrics, some grunge, solids, blenders and a few batiks. They also have wide backing fabric available and so much more. Also in Nappanee is the Quilters Garden (when in season) a quilt pattern display of flowers next to the Chamber of Commerce. Great photo op. Just minutes down the road is the Round Barn Theater. You will stop for a coffee break and possibly have a chance to look around the Amish farm. Settle down for the night in Joliet.

April 12th, Saturday - JOILET, IL to EAU CLAIRE, SD (B). This morning you can shop till you drop at Roberts Sewing Center. The World’s Largest Quilting Shop. Offers over 8000 bolts of 100% cotton fabrics from major manufacturers, complete line of quilting and sewing notions, as well as hundreds of patterns and books and proud to be an authorized Pfaff and Husqvarna Viking sewing machine dealer. This is a Quilters Paradise. This afternoon is the Museum of Quilts and Fiber Art. It is dedicated to educating the public about the artistic, cultural, historic and social importance of quilts and fiber arts. The Museum has documented over 8,000 quilts. They offer lectures and classes from a variety of teachers from all around the world. This is the only museum in Wisconsin devoted to the creation, education and preservation of time-honored fiber arts. They restored an 1850s barn for their gallery, classrooms, storage and general purposes. And this, my friend, is the end of our Memorial Quilting Tour.

April 13th, Sunday - EAU CLAIRE, SD to MINOT, ND (B). Through South Dakota to North Dakota. If we find a unique shop along the way, we will check that one more shop for that one more thing you were looking for!  Then arrive in Minot for overnight. Bid farewell to your fellow quilting passengers. Plan a quilting party?

April 14th, Monday - MINOT, ND to PRINCE ALBERT, SK (B). Travel north stopping at duty free before crossing border into Canada. Dropping passengers off along the way. Regina, Saskatoon and Prince Albert.
