Day 1 Jun 12 SASKATCHEWAN – OVERNIGHT WHITECOURT AB, cross SK/AB border no change. Join our tour anywhere along the route today. From Prince Albert – Best Western Inn Marquis Rd, Saskatoon – Motel 6 Marquis Drive, North Battleford – McDonald’s Railway Ave E, Lloydminster – Dairy Queen 44 St, Saint Albert – Tim Horton’s Herbert Rd, or Whitecourt – Holiday Inn Express.

Day 2 Jun 13 WHITECOURT - OVERNIGHT FORT NELSON BC, B, cross AB/BC border gain 1 hour. Stop in at Valley view for coffee, “pose” at famous “MILEPOST 0” in Dawson Creek, the official start of the Alaska Highway. Building of this 2,288km highway took 30,000 people and 9 months. Pass breath taking landscapes along the highway through the Rockies, stop at Pink Mountain for coffee, see Prophet River Valley, visit Fort Nelson’s Visitor Center and Museum. Overnight in Fort Nelson, a major transportation hub and the largest city in the Northern Rockies Regional District.

Day 3 Jun 14 FORT NELSON BC – OVERNIGHT WATSON LAKE YT, B L, bring your swimsuit. Today is a scenic drive past clear lakes, rushing rivers, extreme canyons and the northern Rocky Mountains. This northern route passes through vegetation from muskeg to hot springs. Enjoy a picnic lunch, relax and swim in Liard Hot Springs pool. Head to Watson Lake, just inside the Yukon border. Stop at the Visitor Center, Sign Post Forest, one of the most famous landmarks along the Alaska Highway. It was started in 1942 by a homesick GI. There is a gift shop and bistro coffee shop nearby. This evening, enjoy the unique Northern Lights Centre with interactive displays that explain the science and folklore of the Aurora Borealis.

Day 4 Jun 15 WATSON LAKE YT – OVERNIGHT WHITEHORSE YT, B L, cross YT/BC twice no change. Coffee at Continental Divide. Journey through Swift River, have picnic lunch at Teslin Campground near the river in the Cassiar Mountains and Big Salmon Range. Visit Beringia Interpretive Center, Whitehorse Visitor Center, walk around the SS Klondike Sternwheeler now a National Historic Site. It once ran freight between Whitehorse and Dawson City, along the Yukon River.  Visit the Rapids Fishway (aka the Fishladder), which is the longest wooden fish ladder in the world. It helps to ensure the survival of the Yukon River’s chinook salmon run. Stop at one of the Viewpoints where you can see the suspended bridge and river, before settling in your hotel for overnight.

Day 5 Jun 16 WHITEHORSE YT - OVERNIGHT DAWSON CITY YT, B. Before leaving Whitehorse you select your own picnic lunch for today. Head north on the Klondike Highway with a stop at the Montague Road House Historic Site. A former stagecoach-stop along the Old Whitehorse-Dawson Road. Continue onto Carmack’s for coffee, once notable for Yukon river steamers headed to Dawson City. View of 5 Fingers Rapids (4 islands that split the river into 5 channels). Enjoy your lunch at Pelly Crossing Campground. Pelly Crossing is home to Selkirk First Nation and community of 300 people. Arrive in Dawson City - the heart of the Klondike. The city appears similar to boom town of 1890’s: clapboard buildings, boardwalk and gravel streets. No trip is complete without following the winding road to the incredible vantage point and take in the panoramic view of the region.  From April through August, enjoy long evenings, no darkness and see the Midnight Sun from the Midnight Dome.

Day 6 Jun 17 DAWSON CITY YT, B. FREE MORNING on your own. Here are a few options: check out the Visitor Information Center, take a walking tour that compares Dawson then (1898) & now. See Dawson City the way locals do…and did., Maximilian’s Gold Rush Emporium, Dawson City Museum or join the Sour-toe Cocktail Club - a world famous activity at the Sourdough Saloon in the Downtown Hotel. Have a look at the perfectly restored historic buildings, some have been left as they were and you can see what happens to some buildings build on frozen ground! They start to sink or tilt when the frozen ground melts. This afternoon re-live the excitement of the gold rush with your guided Tour of Dawson City, you will see what is known as “Authors Row”, a collection of cabins inhabited by well known authors of the past. Jack London – Call of the Wild, Robert Service – Poetry of the North and Pierre Burton’s – numerous stories, his childhood cottage is now a place for Canadian authors in residence who can stay to work on their writing. Tour Gold Fields with a visit to Dredge #4 Historical Site. This evening, enjoy Diamond Tooth Gerties Gambling Hall. It’s has been wowing visitors for years with its unique Klondike days, period style, cancan entertainment and charm. It is Canada’s Oldest Casino.

Day 7 Jun 18 DAWSON CITY YT – OVERNIGHT FAIRBANKS AK, B, cross YT/AK border gain 1 hour. Board the George Black ferry, travel the “Top of the World Highway” to the border at Little Gold, people have your passports ready. Take plenty of photos along the top of the world highway. Visit the quirky town of Chicken. A community founded on gold mining and is one of the few surviving goldrush towns in Alaska. On a good day Chicken is home to 7 residents, a gift shop, saloon, liquor store and an outhouse. Stop in Tok for lunch, visit “Santa Claus House” at North Pole before heading to Fairbanks for two nights.

Day 8 Jun 19 FAIRBANKS AK, B L D. This morning ride on the authentic sternwheeler Riverboat Discovery III along the Chena & Tanana Rivers. Visit the home and kennels of the late four-time Iditarod winner Susan Butcher. Visit a replica Athabascan Indian Village discover traditional Native lifestyles. Watch a fish wheel in operation and see the ‘Wedding of the Rivers’. Enjoy a family style lunch before taking a Guided city tour of Fairbanks, the heart of Alaska's interior. Learn about the culture of this unique city and its beginnings in the Gold Rush era. Tonight, in Pioneer Park, take part in an Alaska Salmon Bake plus the number one Show throughout Alaska and Canada, Golden Heart Review. This hilarious musical comedy leaves you a bit wiser about the life in the last frontier.

Day 9 Jun 20 FAIRBANKS AK – OVERNIGHT ANCHORAGE AK, B, Denali policy no cash, cards only. Spectacular scenery as you travel to Denali National Park, formerly known as Mount McKinley, located in interior Alaska and is America’s highest peak. Stop at the Visitor Center and surrounding facilities of a restaurant and gift shop. The Wilderness Center offers programs, exhibits, wildlife displays and a free film. Arrive in Anchorage for 2 nights.

Day 10 Jun 21 ANCHORAGE AK, B. Meet your guide for a tour around Anchorage. You will see Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center which plays host to orphaned wood Bison, black and brown bears, moose, elk, lynx, caribou and muskox. Take the Alyeska Aerial Tram scenic ride to the top of Mt. Alyeska. At 2300 feet, witness frosty views of the Turn-again Arm, up to seven “hanging” glaciers and endless peaks deep into the Chugach Mountain range. Don’t forget to look down! Moose and bear sightings are common on the aerial tram rides. Continuing on your guided tour and sights of Anchorage, with Ulu factory/ fish ladder, Earthquake park, and Beluga point. The rest of the afternoon is to do as you wish on own.

Day 11 Jun 22 ANCHORAGE AK – WHITTIER AK, B, depart 8:00pm - CRUISE DAY COMMENCES. Travel to the tiny town of Whittier. This small, charming, remote village has plenty to see. The odd distinction of Whittier is being almost entirely under one roof. The Begich Tower is a 14 story building originally constructed as an out post for US Army, now houses all town services, (grocery, bank, post office and homes) as almost all the Whittier residents live in here. You will visit Prince William Sound Museum, drive-by other sights, if you are lucky you will see Manu the Reindeer, complete your tour with a stop at the loop of all restaurants, gift and specialty shops. Bid farewell to your driver and embark the Holland America - Nieuw Amsterdam Ship and sail for 7 days down along the coast to Vancouver.

Day 12 Jun 23 CRUSING HUBBARD GLACIER, B L D, arrives 3:00pm Departs 6:00pm. Hubbard Glacier feels like you are approaching another planet in a tiny space craft. It is that big and that “otherworldly.” Hubbard has a rapidly advancing ice margin – up to seven feet in one day, earning it the nickname, “the Galloping Glacier.” The glacier’s three-story icebergs cannon into crystal waters, a process called calving. Hubbard is so colorful on clear days and turns a stunning deep blue on cloudy days. It dwarfs other glaciers in Alaska. It is the longest tidewater glacier in North America and starts 122km back and is 106m above the water line, making cruise ships look like toy boats.

Day 13 Jun 24 GLACIER BAY, B L D, arrives 8:30am departs 6:30pm, be sure to bring your binoculars. Close your eyes and take in the sounds - the creaks and groans of “living” ice, the cries of gulls, the splash of a breaching humpback whale. Witness soaring eagles, peaks towering over mossy forests, wide tidewater glaciers (there are 7 in the park), every experience in this changing biosphere is unique. Admire the landscape from the open deck of your ship, there are glaciers, fjords, inlets, rivers, streams and wildlife galore on the Glacier Bay.

Day 14 Jun 25 SKAGWAY, B L D, arrive 5:30am depart 9:00pm. Skagway is known as the “Garden City of Alaska” filled with beauty and nature. At the height of the Klondike Gold Rush, the port town of Skagway served as the primary gateway to the legendary gold fields and quickly grew into Alaska’s largest settlement. As the gold rush faded into the 1900’s, so did Skagway. Today it has been re-invigorated for a new kind of visitor: those looking to explore Alaska’s colorful history, pristine wildlife and unrivaled natural beauty. Take an adventure in Skagway. You’ll find yourself immersed in gold rush lore, from the infamous Red Onion Saloon that still keeps a pistol of Wyatt Earp’s left behind, White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad, a narrow gauge railway takes you through rugged mountains and cascading waterfalls, and towering glaciers. Much of the town has been preserved as part of the National Historical Park, rangers offer free walking tours around the historic district, home to a rich collection of local galleries, curio shops and restaurants serving fresh seafood.

Day 15 Jun 26 JUNEAU, B L D, arrives 8:00am departs 4:30pm. Cruise to Juneau and experience this breathtaking, remote, beautiful and strangest state capital in the US. Surrounded by water, forest and mountain sights, visitors can seek things to do indoors / outdoors, hike a glacier, eat fresh fish on a seaside patio and tour the grand capital building ALL in one day. The real highlight to Juneau is tracking down some wildlife. You can hike up Mount Roberts to chance upon wild deer and bald eagles. For whale watching tours head north to Auke Bay – bring binoculars. If you prefer land mammals catch a floatplane to a nearby wildlife reserve to spy on some bear lolling around. This sleepy, misty city of a population of around 32,000 – mostly fishermen and small-business owners has a frontier town vibe and welcomes more that a million visitors each summer making Juneau - Alaska’s number-one tourist destination.

Day 16 Jun 27 KETCHIKAN, B L D, arrives 11:00am departs 7:00pm. Alaska’s “First City” is Ketchikan, named as such because it’s the first major landfall for most cruises as they enter the picturesque fjords of the Inside Passage, where the town clings to the banks of the Tongass Narrows, flanked by green forests nurtured by abundant rain. Ketchikan has been a hub of the salmon-fishing and packing industries. Visitors can try their luck at sport-fishing or simply savor the fresh seafood at one of the local restaurants. Ketchikan is one of the best spots along the Inside Passage to explore the rich cultural sights of Native Alaskan nations like the Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian. You can see intricately carved totem poles, attractions of Saxman Village to see Tlingit culture in action with carvers and dance show. Be sure to leave time to explore the sights in the town, historic Creek Street, boardwalk built over the Ketchikan Creek, shop for souvenirs, smoked salmon, local art and explore the gold-rush attraction like Dolly’s House Museum.

Day 17 Jun 28 CRUISING THE INSIDE PASSAGE, B L D. This renowned cruising route through a protected network of waterways, featuring glacier-cut fjords, lush rainforests, and diverse wildlife.

Day 18 Jun 29 VANCOUVER BC, B, arrives 7:00am, shuttle to the airport and fly home.
