 Hello Fellow Travellers,

Join Doug and Nancy Porcina for the first Lobstick Motor Coach Tour of the season.

We have planned an exciting 14 day tour to Victoria, British Columbia with many attractions beginning with Banff National Park. Followed by a tour of the Okanagan Valley with a variety of scenic and informative stops along the way. First stop in Vancouver is the Capilano Suspension Bridge. The next day, with the help of a local guide, we will tour more Vancouver sights ending with a visit to Granville Island. We will leave the B.C. mainland by ferry as we make our way to Vancouver Island. We will be joined by a local guide for a scenic and informative look at Victoria and surrounding area. Our Inner Harbour hotel is ideally located for a free day in Victoria. We have lots of sight seeing planned as we leave Victoria for Nanaimo and the ferry crossing to Horseshoe Bay. Overnighting in Squamish, we begin our way home on the Sea to Sky Highway as we make our way to Kamloops on one of the most scenic highways in B.C. More waterfalls and awe inspiring scenery on our way to Jasper. The next day we will take the Icefields Parkway Drive stopping at the Columbia Ice Fields and Lake Louise before our final overnight in Strathmore.

Welcome back travelers, thank you for your patience. Join Doug & Nancy Porcina for the first Lobstick Motor Coach Tour of the season.

COVID-19 vaccinations, boosters, and masking are recommended, not mandatory. Masking on motor coach and indoor spaces is up to you. Our tours visit communities that are more remote and it is your responsibility to ensure you comply with their wishes.


ITINERARY

Day 1 May 4th Thursday SK - Strathmore AB. Join our tour in Prince Albert, Saskatoon, Regina, Swift Current, Medicine Hat, Strathmore and if time allows, places between.

Day 2 May 5th Friday Strathmore - Radium Hot Springs BC. This morning we vist Banff National Park. Spend time in Banff, strolling, shopping and photo opportunities. After lunch, visit Castle Mountain Internment Camp Monument, the largest internment facility in the Canadian Rockies. Off to Radium Hot Springs pool in the East Kootenay region for an opportunity to soak in the mineral water surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery. An unforgettable experience.

Day 3 May 6th Saturday Radium Hot Springs - Vernon BC. Stretch your legs in Golden BC at Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge, the longest freestanding timber frame bridge in Canada. Lunch in Revelstoke, save room for dessert down the road. Visit Craigellachie, the Last Spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven into the ground on November 7th, 1885. Just off #1 Highway by Sicamous, enjoy D Dutchmen Dairy store that sells handmade ice cream, milk and cheese made on site. Travel to Vernon, Planet Bee Honey Farm & Honeymoon Meadery. Learn about the amazing world of the honeybee and sample numerous floral varieties of honey. Tour a local farm to flask distillery at the Okanagan Spirits and Craft Distillery offering samples and a selection of more than 25 internationally awarded spirits.

Day 4 May 7th Sunday Vernon - Penticton BC. Today drive by Kelowna Waterfront, picturesque with cascading falls, green expanses and scenic views. Stroll through Kasugai Gardens, a unique park built to demonstrate the friendship and union between Kelowna and its sister city Kasugai, Japan. Stroll along the lake shore in Peachland, with a beautiful park lined with paved walkways and a boardwalk over the water. After lunch tour Summerland's Trout Hatchery, the oldest continuously running trout hatchery in BC. This hatchery stocks a million fish in lakes from Grand Forks to Revelstoke and Kamloops. Later, tour the preserved SS Sicamous in Penticton. The largest surviving sternwheeler BC. Once a luxury vessel used to transport passengers and cargo to remote areas along the shores of Okanagan Lake. Try the gentle hike at Munson Mountain which overlooks Penticton, the lake and vineyards. About 1 km roundtrip.

Day 5 May 8 Monday Penticton - Vancouver BC. Scenic drive from Penticton to Vancouver, traveling along Okanagan Hwy - Okanagan Connector - Princeton-Kamloops Hwy - Coquihalla Hwy with stops in Merritt and Hope. This afternoon spend time at the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Take a mini-guided tour to learn of the flora, fauna and ecosystem. Walk the bridge and take in the scenic views of the rainforest below from a viewing platform. Be sure to check out the shops, cafes, restaurants, souvenirs and ice cream shop. The Trading Post has just about everything.

Day 6 May 9th Tuesday - Vancouver City guided tour. Step on guide showing highlights of Vancouver area from Chinatown - Water Street - Canada Place and so much more. Enjoy the ambiance of Granville Island's Public Market and Local Artists' Studios. Visit Queen Elizabeth Park with its Sunken Gardens.

Day 7 May 10th Wednesday Vancouver Ferry - Victoria guided city tour. Board Tsawwassen ferry to Swartz Bay. Sailing time 1hr35min. Meet step on tour guide who gives you a fascinating history about the region, nature and culture. Shows you Inner Harbour where the City's history began, Canada's oldest Chinatown and Government House. Ride through the Rockland district and Oak Bay Village, the Uplands, a scenic drive along the Marine Coast seaside communities, plus Mount Tolmie spectacular viewpoint, Beacon Hill Park and Mile 0.

Day 8 May 11th Thursday Victoria sightseeing. Visit the beauty and curiosity of a tropical jungle up close at the Butterfly Gardens. Thousands of butterflies fly through the gardens. You may encounter frogs, tortoises, large iguanas, flamingos, ducks, free flying birds and more. This afternoon, tour Butchart Gardens. Enjoy their breathtaking 22ha (55 acre) gardens in Spring. Countless tulips, daffodils and hyacinths will give you a buffet of fragrances and colours.

Day 9 May 12th Friday Victoria free day. Explore on your own, visit with relatives, rest, relax, reset. Options to see, try, or do on your own:

Day 10 May 13th Saturday Victoria - Squamish BC. Drive to Esquimalt to get a glimplse of the Pacific Naval Base and military vessels. Stop in Duncan for the Totem Poles. Erected in the 80s, these ornate, colourful wooden totem poles each represent the Cowichan Tribe traditions, including the chiefs, nature, cultural wealth and family. Stop in Chemainus for its outdoor gallery of murals. Lunch on own in Coombs at the World Famous Market and the Goats on the Roof. Walk among the giant Douglas fir trees in Cathedral Grove. Board Departure Bay Ferry, sail to Horseshoe Bay 1hr40min, continue to Squamish for overnight.

Day 11 May 14th Sunday Squamish - Kamloops BC. Stop at Brandywine Falls, the iconic landmark along the Sea to Sky Highway. It is an easy walk on flat terrain to reach the spectacular 70m waterfall. Stop in Lillooet, a beautiful community on the Fraser River, surrounded by deep gorges. Off to the Jade Shop in Cache Creek.

Day 12 May 15th Monday Kamloops BC - Jasper AB. Drive by the Dragon Mountain and Spirit Square in Louis Creek. It was created to permanently recognize all those who fought in the fire, helped in the aftermath, and joined hands to rebuild after the devastating fire of 2003. View Spahats Falls within Wells Gray Provincial Park. The trails to the falls viewing platform is a 5 minute walk. Then off to Mount Robson Visitor Centre.

Day 13 May 16th Tuesday Jasper AB - Strathmore AB. Stop at Athabasca Falls and Stutfield Glacier Viewpoint, where you can see the receding glacier. Visit Columbia Skywalk, 1km walkway to a glass floor observation platform. Tons of photo opportunites. Enjoy the scenic drive to Lake Louise with its spectacular views of forests and snowcapped mountains. Enjoy your evening social with food and drinks.

Day 14 May 17th Wednesday Strathmore - Prince Albert SK. Homeward bound cherishing wonderful memories of your travels. Stops in reverse of Day 1.
