2018 Ukraine (September 6th - 23rd)


Thursday Sept. 6th - Depart Saskatoon for Krakow, Poland. (Flight schedule to be advised later)

 Friday Sept. 7th - Arrive Krakow mid afternoon. On arrival after clearing Polish Customs & Immigration you will be transferred to our Hotel for a two night stay. Dinner at the hotel. (D)

Saturday Sept. 8th - Full day of touring in the City of Krakow – We will visit the Medieval Wawel Castle which is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit Krakow Jewish district of Podgorze and Kazimierz. Stroll in the impressive Old Town. See the Holocaust Memorial in Podgorze and hear stories of wartime heroes like Oscar Schindler. We will have time to visit St. Mary’s Church where we will see the magnificent ceiling above the Altar. Some free time to wander through the local Flea Market.  Dinner at a local restaurant. (B/D)

Sunday Sept. 9th - This morning we will depart by train for Lviv, Ukraine. Travel time approximately 6.5 hours. On arrival in Lviv we will be  transfer red  to our hotel for a 4 night stay. Dinner on your own at Ibis Hotel. (B)

Monday Sept. 10th - Sightseeing in Lviv. Fr. Andriy our Guide in Ukraine will take us on a sightseeing tour of this beautiful city. We will visit Shevchenko Hai, which is an open air museum, consisting of six small villages. Lychakiv Cemetery is a must to see. Here you will see very large and some very unique monuments to famous people. Lunch at local restaurant. This afternoon a leisurely walking tour in the city center. Dinner this evening at a local Restaurant. (B/D) 

Tuesday Sept. 11th - This morning we will visit Historical  St. George’s Cathedral. In the afternoon we will visit Lviv’s beautiful Opera House and local Museum. (B)

Wednesday Sept. 12th - Today you will have a free day to explore this ancient city. Visit the numerous Markets, beautiful shopping center or just relax at a side walk cafe. (B)

Thursday Sept. 13th - Depart Lviv for Yaremche, Carpathian Mountain region. Stop in the University City of Ivana Frankish for lunch and a walking tour. 3 night stay in Yaremche. Dinner at our Hotel. (B/D)

Friday Sept. 14th - Today we will enjoy the town of Yaremche, visit the local markets and visit the wooden Churches. Yaremche is a beautiful and scenic place to relax. Dinner at a local Restaurant. (B/D)

Saturday Sept. 15th – An exciting day today, we will  be touring  in the Carpathian Mountains, visit a farm, music museum, and have a traditional lunch at a local home. Dinner at our Hotel. (B/L/D)

Sunday Sept. 16th - After Church service at the Redemptorist Monastery we will travel approximately 55 kilometers to Kolomayaa for a 2 night stay. (B)

Monday Sept. 17th - Visit to Pysanka and Hutsul Culture Museums. Kolomayya is  located in the pre-Carpathian regions was founded in the 12th century. It is a lovely green city with numerous unique buildings. Here you can enjoy the colorful Hutsul culture as this is their main center. Kolomayaa is a very enjoyable city to visit. (B)

Tuesday Sept. 18th - Travel to Ternopil – 2 nights. Dinner at our Hotel. (B/D)

Wednesday Sept. 19th - This morning we will visit the ancient religious site of Pochaiv Larva Monastery.  On our return to Ternopil this afternoon we will have time to visit the Museum of Political Prisoners. Dinner at the Mill Restaurant. (B/D)

Thursday Sept. 20th – Travel to Kiev – approx travel time 9 hours. (B)

Friday Sept. 21st - On our city tour of Kiev we will see the Golden Gate, Vladimirskiy Cathedral, St. Michael’s Square. All Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, Taras Shevchenko University of Kiev and visit Kiev Pechersk Lavra Monastery. Dinner this evening at a local Restaurant. (B/D)

Saturday Sept. 22nd - This morning visit the ancient and historical religious site of St. Sophia’s Cathedral. See the impressive Holodomor  National Museum.  Free time to visit local Markets for those special souvenirs. Dinner this evening at O”Panas Restaurant in beautiful Shevchenko Park. (B/D)

Sunday Sept. 23rd - Return to Canada.
